Gavin Dong - Statistics
Gavin Dong is a Lecturer in Geographical Data Science at the Department of Geography and Planning. His expertise involves spatial, spatio-temporal statistics and econometrics, multi-level modelling and Bayesian methods. He is interested in developing statistical methodologies, especially integrated spatial and multi-level modelling approaches for traditional multiple-scale geographical data and various new forms of data such as fine spatio-temporal granular GPS trajectories data. These methodological development involve heavily Bayesian computational approaches. He has extensive research interests in applying these methodologies to explore socio-spatial and temporal health inequality and subjective well-being and quality of life. Gavin has programming skills in R and experience in developing R packages.
