Sponsor Profile
Andrea Jorgensen - Statistics
Andrea Jorgensen holds a PhD in Medical Statistics and is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Biostatistics. She co-leads the MRC Hubs for Trials Methodology Research Network’s Stratified Medicine Working Group. Her research areas lie within the fields of pharmacogenetics, and stratified medicine more widely, focussing on the development and application of methods for analysing genetic and other biomarker data, particularly where outcomes of interest are time-to-event. Current themes of her research include compiling evidence of biomarker validity; choosing the optimal design for a biomarker-stratified trial and practical challenges in their conduct; reporting and quality assessment of pharmacogenetics studies; and methods for meta-analysing pharmacogenetics studies. She has developed expertise in these areas through application in several large pharmacogenetics projects and consortia, contributing to the advancement of personalised approaches to treatment in clinical areas including anticoagulation, epilepsy, asthma and lupus.
