Patricia Murray is Professor of Stem Cells and Regenerative Medicine in the Institute of Translational Medicine. She is a founder member of the University of Liverpool’s Regenerative Medicine Network and is a lead investigator in the UK Regenerative Medicine Platform (UKRMP) Safety and Efficacy Hub. Her background is in stem cell biology and her current research includes investigating the safety and efficacy of regenerative medicine therapies for renal and other diseases, and exploring the underlying mechanisms of action. To this end, she works with chemists and imaging physicists at Liverpool to develop novel imaging probes and multi-modal imaging strategies to monitor the biodistribution and fate of the administered cell therapies, and determine their ability to improve renal function and architecture.
