Andrew Weeks is Professor of International Maternal Health and Director of the WHO Collaborating Centre for Research and Research Synthesis in Reproductive Health. He works on improving care in childbirth both in the UK and globally. Areas that may be especially suitable for MRC skills development fellowships include the assessment of large hospital datasets to improve the understanding of labour induction, postpartum bleeding after childbirth, and the development of algorithms to continuously estimate labour outcomes as pregnancy and labour progresses.
