Tom Solomon is Professor of Neurological Science, Head of the Brain Infections Group, and Director of the NIHR Health Protection Research Unit in Emerging and Zoonotic Infections. He works on brain infections of major importance in the UK and globally. Areas that may be especially suitable for MRC skills development fellowships include investigation of large metagenomics datasets to help improve diagnosis of brain infections, and using health informatic approaches to better understand and improve patient management, in collaboration with the Farr Institute.
