Neil French is a clinical epidemiologist with a specific interest in transmission of infectious diseases and use of vaccines. Current interests include understanding the transmission of S.pneumoniae in communities and how vaccine schedules can be modified to maximise herd protection; mapping contact patterns of humans to inform transmission models of respiratory and fomite spread infection; and large scale effectiveness studies of rotavirus, influenza and pneumococcal vaccines in the UK and Malawi.
