Rachel Bearon leads the mathematical biology research group and is responsible for User Engagement at the Liverpool Centre of Mathematics for Healthcare (LCMH). She develops models bridging spatial and temporal scales to make biological predictions and studies the dynamics of a wide range of biological systems across multiple scales, ranging from bacterial chemotaxis and the swimming micro-organisms phytoplankton in turbulence, to modelling cell-signaling pathways, intracellular protein dynamics, and 3D micro-tissue models for drug discovery.
