Tuomo Valkonen - Applied Maths
Tuomo Valkonen is Lecturer in Applied Mathematics. His research is in optimisation theory and mathematical analysis, motivated by the needs of inverse problems and data science. The latter include medical imaging, where he has experience in particular with MRI, and approaches for computers to understand those images. He aims to develop efficient optimisation methods to solve problems from these areas, and to better understand the underlying mathematical models and properties of their solutions.
